Warehousing, New Build & Refurbishment
Progressive Investments Ltd – Howdens Warehouse Programme
The Vision
To deliver a fast-track programme of purpose-built and refurbished warehouse facilities across the North of England for Howdens, supporting the continued growth and operational requirements of a major national kitchen and joinery distributor.
The Mission
This multi-site industrial programme for Progressive Investments Ltd involved the delivery of warehouse facilities in Whitby, Selby, Ripon, Morpeth, Berwick-upon-Tweed and Blyth.
Providing individual units of up to 16,000 sq ft, each development was delivered within a demanding construction programme. Careful planning, coordination and efficient management of the supply chain were essential to achieving the short completion timescales required across all six locations.
At Blyth, the works included the demolition of existing buildings and comprehensive site clearance before construction of the new warehouse could commence.
In Ripon, MLC completed a substantial programme of refurbishment and structural floor strengthening. Restricted internal working heights presented a significant technical challenge, requiring the design and installation of a specialist mini-piling solution adapted specifically to the constraints of the existing building.
MLC successfully delivered £1.6 million of works across the six locations within just 12 months. The programme demonstrates our ability to manage fast-track, multi-site industrial developments while adapting to varying site conditions, operational requirements and complex structural challenges.
